death grips is my favorite band in the whole world they changed my life the first time I listened to them and opened my music taste to a whole new world of sounds. i am so thankful for them and their music, so this page is dedicated to them and chock full of my fav songs/pics/lyrics related to them!

what death grips mean to me.

death grips is all about embracing the most chaotic state of mankind. they embody and detail all of humanity's most depraved thoughts/feelings/inclinations. their music is super noisy and high energy. it pumps me up. tachyon makes me feel like i've done a line of coke. they're all about breaking the mold, violating rules, and fucking shit entirely up.

for much of my life i struggled to find music i really liked. it seemed like music was so important to a lot of people, but not as much for me. a lot of music follows the same formulas and patterns, it's not really groundbreaking and that's okay, but i quickly got bored with whatever was on the radio or what was being shown to me. death grips was an entirely new and foreign musical experience and wasn't initially greeted with fondness.

i found death grips via a slenderverse creator (adam rosner of tribetwelve) when he posted about going to one of their concerts ~2016. i had only vaguely heard of the band and that was the first time i was determined to look them up. i found the song "tachyon," hated it, and found myself thinking "why the fuck would anyone want to listen to this? it's just noise."

however, i couldn't stop thinking about it. i kept coming back to revisit their songs despite telling myself i hated them. i said that i enjoyed them "ironically" but the truth was they just really fucking drew me in. and the more i listened to, the more i liked. over the years, it grew into love. i collect their albums. i actually BUY them, which isn't something i can say for a lot of musicians i enjoy.

death grips helped me through some strange and upsetting times in my life. when i get really upset i turn on a loud track and scream along with it. their aesthetics are ones i find to be particularly interesting and relatable.

it would be so cool to experience them live.

lots of people try to tell me that their music is unlistentable or cringy or shitty but i just don't care. they've changed the way i look at music. they've completely altered my tastes into something strange and exciting. i love noise music so much now that i could just listen to static and be cool with it, and that's not something i could say before.

there are so many excellent artists and songs i wouldn't know of if it hadn't been for death grips giving me my first real taste of experimental, unconventional music. i wish they knew how much they've done for me artistically. they're inspirational on so many levels. i love them.

this is a piece of merch that i really want to own. i fell in love with it the first time they posted it on twitter.

i own four physical copies of their albums but i want to own all of them someday. "THE POWERS THAT B" is my favorite and was the first one i found and bought irl!!!!!! year of the snitch is my second favorite because i was actively involved in the fanbase when it came out so it feels like the "first" one i got to experience for real.
